Students

VIA students represent people of all cultures, faiths and places. Our school attracts enrollees from the local Bay Area, domestic full-time boarding students from within the U.S., and students from outside the U.S.A. We welcome applications from families from all walks of life and we specifically seek 9th–12th graders whom we believe will love our school, flourish in its outstanding academic program.

Our school attracts students who are serious about their academic studies, but who appreciate "freedom within boundaries." We expect all of our enrolled students to plan to attend American colleges and universities, and our curriculum is designed to support that goal. We appreciate applicants who display an active curiosity about young people of other cultures and nations, and who genuinely wish to engage in a community that has a truly global feel. We look for families with a positive vision for the future, and understand that building bridges and friendships between cultures and nations is beneficial for us all.
